In just a few minutes from this post going live, the sixth Democratic Presidential debates will begin on PBS and CNN. I’ll try to be live-tweeting and let you know if anyone is emailing during the debates.

There has been a lot of talk about diversity on the debate stage and how the stage no longer looks like America the way the first debate did, so I figured I’d do some diversity breakdowns for us all.

Farewell Wayne Messam

At 10:36 AM ET, on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, Wayne Messam, Mayor of Miramar, Florida suspended his Presidential campaign.

Unfortunately, Wayne did not ever send me a single email, and I had minimal data on him. Luckily for him (and me), that Discord guy who makes my art for these farewell posts was also a huge Wayne supporter and offered to guest-write this post. Take it away, Elysium!

Debate 4

In just a few minutes from this post going live, the fourth Democratic Presidential debates will begin on CNN. I’ll try to be live-tweeting and let you know if anyone is emailing during the debates.

I asked Twitter what they wanted to compare today, and they asked for four things:

  • What do the candidates talk about?
  • Who are the candidates negative toward?
  • What rhetorical devices are used?
  • How do they talk about their goals?

Notes:

  • Donor and non-donor emails are not separated for these counts. Gray bars indicate total emails sent since May 21.
  • Totals might not add up to 100% because candidates could talk about multiple things in the same email, be negative toward multiple groups in the same email, or use multiple rhetorical devices in the same email.
