1000% MATCH!
Emails | |
---|---|
Total | 27 |
Biden | 7 |
Trump | 20 |
For all new readers: Welcome! I am currently on the mailing lists of Joe Biden and Donald Trump, though I have previously been on the mailing lists of 28 Democratic candidates! This blog breaks down recent emails with charts and excerpts. If you already know all of this, feel free to skip to the next chart!
It took some time for the Trump emails to kick in, so I started officially tracking his list on July 7. I have been tracking Biden’s for longer, but I will start comparing them as of July 7. All of these emails are going to a new email, and I have not donated, filled out surveys, signed petitions, or otherwise interacted with either candidate’s emails.
The rules I try to follow for the various categories are laid out in The Framework.

Donald Trump sent 20 emails on Friday, while Joe Biden sent 7 emails.

With one day left of the month, both Biden and Trump were furiously trying to drum up money. While Biden threw in references to getting people to vote, connecting with voters, and giving me information on how I can register to vote and where I should go, Trump wanted money, money, more money, and my name on his text message list.
He also had a calendar with hand-picked images from Melania. Apparently, she told him, and I quote with his emphasis…
“Darling, I want Amy to have PRIORITY-ACCESS to get the calendar FIRST.”
Melania doesn’t even use all-caps in her own emails. I have no idea why she’d talk in all-caps. But that’s Trump for you.

Biden reeled in his worry (mostly) to be eager about the final few days of the election, and Trump reeled in his hatred of Biden to demand to know why I wasn’t on his donor list and that I needed to FIX THIS and step up NOW.
As an added incentive, at 1:19 PM on Friday afternoon, I received the match we were all waiting for.

Twitter, I should say, went wild. Champagne corks were popping everywhere. @TrumpEmail on Twitter, had a special GIF just for the occasion.
Absolutely nobody believes the donations are actually being matched 1000%, but still, it was nice to get that big number before Halloween.
1000% wasn’t the only big thing from Friday, though. In one bizarre email, Mike Pence sent me a message with very enlarged font.
I think it’s clear that Pence was worried his constituents had poor eyesight and needed the larger font.
