Day 527: 10/28/20

Joe Biden is reaching Donald Trump email numbers.

For all new readers: Welcome! I am currently on the mailing lists of Joe Biden and Donald Trump, though I have previously been on the mailing lists of 28 Democratic candidates! This blog breaks down recent emails with charts and excerpts. If you already know all of this, feel free to skip to the next chart!

It took some time for the Trump emails to kick in, so I started officially tracking his list on July 7. I have been tracking Biden’s for longer, but I will start comparing them as of July 7. All of these emails are going to a new email, and I have not donated, filled out surveys, signed petitions, or otherwise interacted with either candidate’s emails.

The rules I try to follow for the various categories are laid out in The Framework.

Too many emails

Donald Trump sent 14 emails on Wednesday, while Joe Biden sent only four fewer, with 10.

Emotional tone is going all over the place

Biden is getting very worried about his finances, while Trump is crowing about his EPIC rallies and his EPIC fundraising deadlines in which he will CRUSH the Democrats.

The match is a lie

Just in case merely donating isn’t enough for you, Trump offered to match every donation with anywhere between 825% and the practically unheard of 950% match (for TRUE PATRIOTS only).

I am still waiting for the legendary 1000% match.

Despite it still being nearly a week until election day, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Trump campaign team both dropped me emails to let me know that this is the VERY LAST CHANCE I will have to make an impact before the most important day of this election. I’m not entirely sure if they’re talking about October 31 (final FEC monthly filing) or November 3 (final day of voting), but regardless, this is my LAST chance.

Biden, on the other hand, was offering me avenues to volunteer, whether it be phonebanking or friendbanking, and he wanted to make doubly certain that I knew where my polling location was.

Trump threatened that if Biden won, we’d be dealing with Bernie Sanders’ policies.

As Biden said in the debate, Trump really doesn’t know who he’s running against.

I changed my mind. I don’t like Biden sending me round numbers.
