Approaching the final FEC fundraising deadline of the election, emails have skyrocketed.

Emails | |

Total | 115 |

Trump | 82 |
For all new readers: Welcome! I am currently on the mailing lists of Joe Biden and Donald Trump, though I have previously been on the mailing lists of 28 Democratic candidates! This blog breaks down recent emails with charts and excerpts. If you already know all of this, feel free to skip to the next chart!
It took some time for the Trump emails to kick in, so I started officially tracking his list on July 7. I have been tracking Biden’s for longer, but I will start comparing them as of July 7. All of these emails are going to a new email, and I have not donated, filled out surveys, signed petitions, or otherwise interacted with either candidate’s emails.
The rules I try to follow for the various categories are laid out in The Framework.

Donald Trump sent 82 emails this past week, 14 more than last week, while Joe Biden sent 33.

While Trump was holding fairly level all week, and Biden was level but up from his usual numbers, on Saturday, Trump went into overdrive, throwing email after email my way, nearly double the emails that he sent on any other day of the week.

While much of Trump’s attention was on his miraculous COVID-19 recovery and how amazing and strong and fit he now was (and had always been), he also went heavy on shilling merch this past week. T-shirts, hats, pint glasses, personalized yard signs, lapel pins, and unnamed ‘free gifts’ were thrown at me like his store was going out of business.

While Biden was inviting me to campaign events and encouraging me to forward the email to my friends so they could join too, Trump was eager to let me have a one-of-a-kind Freedom 2020 hat signed by Trump himself. And while Biden wanted me to sign up to vote, Trump wanted me to sign up for texts.

But while Trump’s major focus at the start of the week had been excitement over the President’s health, by the end of the week, he was screaming bloody murder about how Harris was a phony, Biden shouldn’t be allowed to run at all, and Nancy Pelosi was taking steps to remove Biden from the office to instill Harris as President.
Seriously.

In case the past few days’ events slipped past you, this legislation Pelosi is planning on introducing is a specific response to Trump very clearly making policy decisions while high as a kite on his coronavirus treatments.
Not that Trump would ever let his base know that. Far be it from him to tell the truth. Instead, he’s going to stoke fears that if you don’t vote for Trump, you run the risk of getting a… gasp FEMALE PRESIDENT.
