Well, it’s safe to say that Biden is fully in end-of-month/quarter fundraising mode now.

Total | 17 |
Biden | 6 |
Trump | 11 |
For all new readers: Welcome! I am currently on the mailing lists of Joe Biden and Donald Trump, though I have previously been on the mailing lists of 28 Democratic candidates! This blog breaks down recent emails with charts and excerpts. If you already know all of this, feel free to skip to the next chart!
It took some time for the Trump emails to kick in, so I started officially tracking his list on July 7. I have been tracking Biden’s for longer, but I will start comparing them as of July 7. All of these emails are going to a new email, and I have not donated, filled out surveys, signed petitions, or otherwise interacted with either candidate’s emails.
The rules I try to follow for the various categories are laid out in The Framework.

Donald Trump sent 11 emails on Friday, while Joe Biden sent a whopping 6, which is double his usual daily amount.

While Biden is barely mentioning the debates at all (would I like to join a virtual watch party?), Trump is hammering the debates in all his emails. If I DONATE NOW, my name will display on his livestream! It’ll also be 700% matched! Also, if I donate now AND on debate day, it will be 700% matched both times!!!!
I think he might be desperate.
Actually, I don’t have to think that. He said as much.

In this email, sent just minutes before midnight, Trump says “We’re well behind our September pace.”
Well behind.
Just about every single donation has been at LEAST 700% matched, which means that they are claiming to be pulling in 7 times the amount actually donated and they are still behind.
How is that motivating? Anyone with a lick of sense (wouldn’t be fooled by these emails) would be able to see that Trump’s campaign is desperate for money and not getting anything coming in if they are 700% matching and still not keeping up with their goals.

Trump is backed into a corner and lashing out. He’s screaming blindly. He’s trying to convince his supporters that we hate THEM, not Trump himself.
And really, he’s just showing off his ugliness more and more every day.
Trump has gone so far as to lump Antifa and the KKK in together as radical, left-wing organizations which he is now designating as terrorist groups.

I’m not entirely sure why Trump is suddenly taking a stand against the KKK. You’d think those would be his core demographic. After all, there’s very fine people on both sides, right?
Honestly, Trump could have left the KKK out of this and his base would have been just as happy, if not happier.
Unless he’s suddenly realized he needs the Black vote.
I don’t think this will be enough to do it, though. Maybe he should start with justice for Breonna Taylor…
