It is almost time for the RNC. Do you know what that means? Donald Trump wants to plaster your name on the screen with all the others while he’s giving his speeches! (Also, Melania will do a few too.)
For all new readers: Welcome! I am currently on the mailing lists of Joe Biden and Donald Trump, though I have previously been on the mailing lists of 28 Democratic candidates! This blog breaks down recent emails with charts and excerpts. If you already know all of this, feel free to skip to the next chart!
It took some time for the Trump emails to kick in, so I started officially tracking his list on July 7. I have been tracking Biden’s for longer, but I will start comparing them as of July 7. All of these emails are going to a new email, and I have not donated, filled out surveys, signed petitions, or otherwise interacted with either candidate’s emails.
The rules I try to follow for the various categories are laid out in The Framework.
Donald Trump sent a total of 16 emails over the weekend, while Joe Biden only sent 6.
Finally, Trump has been talking about the Republican National Convention. While Biden is still recapping what happened, Trump has started acknowledging his own party’s party. He continually asked me to check over his speech and edit it, but he never actually attached his speech. He just gave me surveys on how he was doing.
I would have preferred the speech. My red pen was ready.
Most of Trump’s talk about the RNC, however, was to tell me how he was going to be putting the names of ONE MILLION DONORS across the bottom of the screen as he gave his speech, and if I donated now, I could be among the first to scroll past.
…so now this means I have to watch the convention and count the names. Ugh.
Melania, on the other hand, has a much more manageable 100 slots for her speech, though her emails do specify that she can only take 100 names per day and not necessarily for the speech overall.
I will also have to listen to her speech and count her names.
There really wasn’t much else, other than the merch sales. I could get the high sellout risk Freedom 2020 hat for $10 off in honor of the convention, though. Guess he hadn’t sold out.
Thankfully, with Trump’s focus on the RNC, that means he’s no longer screaming at Biden and Harris for calling him a loser. We’re still in an all-out POLITICAL WAR though, which makes me feel unpleasant inside.
Biden, on the other hand, is starting to worry. He’s worried about how much money Trump will pull in from the convention, and he’s worried about how many votes he’ll end up with. After all, as Michelle Obama put it:
She’s absolutely right. In Michigan, if just two more people per precinct had voted for Hillary instead of Trump, Michigan would have gone blue.
Every single vote counts.
We cannot afford to forget that this year.
