EDIT: This post was written when Trump’s emails were hiding in Spam. Here is the correct breakdown of this day’s emails.

Emails from Donald Trump are starting to pick up.
Emails | |
---|---|
Total | 5 |
Biden | 3 |
Trump | 2 |
For all new readers: Welcome! I am currently on the mailing lists of Joe Biden and Donald Trump, though I have previously been on the mailing lists of 28 Democratic candidates! This blog breaks down recent emails with charts and excerpts. If you already know all of this, feel free to skip to the next chart!
It took some time for the Trump emails to kick in, so I started officially tracking his list on July 7. I have been tracking Biden’s for longer, but I will start comparing them as of July 7. All of these emails are going to a new email, and I have not donated, filled out surveys, signed petitions, or otherwise interacted with either candidate’s emails.
The rules I try to follow for the various categories are laid out in The Framework.

Joe Biden sent 3 emails on Tuesday, while Donald Trump managed to land 2 in my inbox.

While both Trump and Biden sent a single fundraising email on Tuesday, Trump also added a contest, while Biden asked me to fill out two different surveys.

Biden started off by talking about how he could ask for my vote all day, but he really struggled asking for my money. He then wanted to talk about his new policy launch and get my opinion on it, and he followed up by noting that I hadn’t filled out my focus group survey before the deadline ended. He’s sure it’s just because that email got lost in my inbox, so he sent it to me again to extend my deadline and give me another chance to give him my feedback.
Trump, meanwhile, asked for a list of his BEST donors, and he was shocked to learn that not only was I not one of his best donors, I was in the BOTTOM 1% of his donors (complete with red font).

Not only was I in the bottom 1%, but 50 others in the bottom 1% had already made their first donation, so I should too.
Despite being in the bottom 1%, Trump really does love me, though. You see, he asked specifically for me to be his guest at the Republican National Convention.

I’m so honored that he’s telling his top supporters, which includes bottom 1%ers, that he’s asked for me to join him…

So… the President of the United States, the most powerful man in the world, is specifically asking for my presence… but I still have to compete to be able to go.
Uh-huh. That’s totally believeable.
(Sorry, Donny. I shared the email)
And for some reason, this P.S. that he keeps adding to these contest emails always amuse me.

(And yes, Trump always signs his emails the same way, with that surprisingly not horrible photo of himself and his name and title.)

Except that is a pretty awful photo 😜

I mean, for Trump: his hair is in place, the skin around his eyes matches the skin of his face, his hands aren’t visible…
